Salamander Play Zone

The Salamander Play Zone at North Central Park is one of Laredo's most meaningful public construction projects in recent memory. Zertuche Construction served as general contractor for Phase II of the North Central Park Playground Project, contributing to the delivery of a fully accessible recreational facility years in the making.

Working alongside Slay Architecture, Zertuche Construction played a key role in bringing the Salamander Play Zone from design to completion. The finished facility features ADA-compliant improvements, synthetic turf, permanent shade structures, specialized playground equipment, and sensory, musical, sand, and water play elements — creating a space built to welcome children of all abilities.

The Salamander Play Zone addresses a long-standing need in Laredo's recreational landscape. Supported by public and private funding, the project stands as a testament to what a community can accomplish when it invests in its youngest residents.
